  • Water-related diseases are the leading cause of death in the world, taking lives of 6000 people a day.
  • Every 15 seconds a child dies from a preventable, water-related disease
  • 40 billion hours are lost annually to hauling water, a chore primarily undertaken by women and girls.

We invite you to consider assisting with this problem by
investing in clean, healthy, water for everybody in Mudzi, Zimbabwe.

Partnerships provide access to purified safe drinking water and save life.

Women fill their buckets with water from a shallow well in the riverbed sand. Water may look clean, is filled with deadly bacteria that cause waterborne diseases.

Mudzi rural district people depend on digging these riverbed shallow-wells for their drinking water. The local dam serves as a reservoir, but it is contaminated. ACTIVE ministry helps by providing a water purification system that uses chlorination to make the water safe to drink.

Water Harvesting System

Improving access to clean water is a simple and cost effective means to reducing waterborne sickness and diseases

Another water system being introduced in the community is an affordable water harvesting method. Families are coached to build their own dry cisterns that can be filled in by rainwater. This system is easy to build, saves the family from walking long distances to fetch water, and is environmentally friendly.
