Vision

ACTIVE intends to plant churches in Zimbabwe by way of training church planters/preachers, and equipping them with vocational skills for self-support. (Acts 20:34; 1 Corinthians 4:12)

Mission

ACTIVE Ministry fulfills The Great Commission by developing Christians in whole, preachers in general, and Church planters in particular [Matthew 28:18-20, Matthew 22:36-40, 2 Timothy 2:2]. Vocational training provides economic support for the new pastors. ACTIVE Ministry participates in community development as part of its ministry outreach and social responsibility. ACTIVE Ministry desires to build multiplying leaders of integrity who are equipped to spearhead the moral, social, and economic transformation of Zimbabwe and Africa.

Values

Relevance: The relevance we seek is to be spiritually relevant in the Kingdom of God by creating ministry environments that people really do use to become new and/or fully devoted followers of Jesus.

Intentionality: We want to understand the world around us and do ministry in a way that addresses actual needs (spiritually; physically; academically) and speaks to actual perspectives. To accomplish this we have to be intentional.

Biblical Wisdom:  Of all the sources of wisdom in the world, we believe that the Bible is the best source. We filter our daily experiences, life decisions, and thoughts about God through a biblical lens. We intentionally teach our students, faculty, staff and administration how to know and study the scriptures for themselves as they follow Jesus Christ.

Non-Denominational: We work with groups from diverse Christian backgrounds and denominations.  We are a non-denominational entity and strive to promote Christ-centered cooperation and teamwork within the Body of Christ.

Integration of faith and work: encouraging students and alumni to live their faith out holistically, including valuing work.

Community: helping our preachers in training, alums, faculty, and administrators build relationships and community. We construct our ministry in such a way that those in most desperate need of our services are increasingly served by the outreach of our ministry.   Our Christian beliefs shape our vision of social responsibility.

Creativity: We think “outside the box” to help our preachers in training go beyond traditional models of doing ministry, structuring and implementation.

Holistic approach to ministry: We provide holistic service that meets people's needs while emphasizing the preaching of the good news to societies. We involve people in decisions that are important to them.

Empowerment: We value programs that do not perpetuate dependence & poverty. We value programs that include intentional, sound development practices which foster wholeness and empower people for sustenance.

Partnerships: We value longer-term relationships and cooperation with organizational ministry partners. We partner with organizations that are financially efficient, transparent and value accountability.
