International Institute of Bible and Vocational Training (IIBVT) to carry out its student-training program. Students go through a four-year program of theoretical and practical study, offered in a 2-1-1 educational system.
Students will spend the first two years attending classroom lectures to lay a foundation of biblical knowledge and understanding, which is essential to Christian leadership, Church planting and Service. This endeavor includes the preparing and equipping of all students for starting a new congregation, discipleship, evangelism, and leadership multiplication. Students will receive training in progressive modules each summer. Each module will build upon the previous until such time when the college can implement the full year program. In the third year, students go for fieldwork or internship for a year before graduation. This is the period where the students participate in church planting. IIBVT follows this strategy in order to emulate the ministry of Jesus Christ who spent time with his disciples and then sent them to preach in the communities. The practical work will also give the students opportunities to experience the kind of work they will engage in after graduation. The practical work will also give the students a chance to decide whether they need to continue with their area of specialization as church planters or change. Students seeking general leadership training will do a managerial project that result in an improvement of an organizational strategy. In the fourth year, students will return to the classroom to complete their course work and to graduate.
The purpose of the education result in starting Churches in the Mashonaland East Province of Zimbabwe starting with Mudzi district. Small businesses and organizations benefit from the entrepreneurial programs offered by the college and from the expertise of the students through volunteer initiatives.
After graduation, students will free to choose a career they desire. IIBVT hopes that the students will choose to work with the churches they would have planted during their third year.
